Essential Week-Long Workshop Information

Purpose
In the past, magicians have had few resources available to learn theatre and movement skills. This intensive, structured week has been tailored to magicians, and is intended to help them obtain basic theatre tools and self-directing skills to take away and be able to apply to their work The workshop is a full week long in order to allow time to effect real, hopefully lasting, change.

What it is
The session is limited to 8 participants and includes daily yoga, movement, speech and acting classes. Evening performance class consist of hands-on direction of each participant by Bob Fitch and Edwin Bordo, to be observed by the entire group. Personal sessions are videotaped, and participants are given the recordings of themselves to keep and refer to after the workshop. Acting classes are taught by Edwin Bordo and guest teachers. There will also be time reserved for recreation, introspection (processing) and fun and surprises.

This is a participatory workshop. It will be fun and exhilarating but also challenging. While the environment is warm and supportive, and major breakthroughs will occur, you should not expect the work to be easy or necessarily entirely comfortable. Participants are expected to attend all structured activities and classes of this integrated program. All yoga and movement classes are suitable for beginners but do require physical effort.

Condensed Performance Workshop

Bob Fitch and Edwin Bordo will travel to your location for a three to five-day performance workshop. Recent workshops in Maine and Las Vegas each had six participants.

The Condensed Workshop is structured like the Full Workshop but differs in that you handle the administrative details, including arranging the location and assembling the participants. It can be a more affordable alternative to the Full Workshop.

If you would like to facilitate/sponsor this, you could receive a discount for attending yourself!

Contact Bob for details and availability.
